OS Distribution Release Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy Jellyfish)

Ubuntu 22.04 is available as a prebuilt image and netboot install.

This is the LTS release of Ubuntu. This version of ubuntu will be supported by Canonical until April of 2027.

A brief list of changes are below. You can view the Release Notes for all changes.

• Linux Kernel 5.15 LTS
• Grub 2.06 (though os-prober is disabled by default)
• upgrade GCC to 11, Ruby to 3.0, Python to 3.10, PHP to 8.1, PostgreSQL to 14
• upgrade Bind to 9.18, OpenLDAP to 2.5.11, OpenSSL to 3.0
• Gnome 42
• Firefox available via Snap

Installation

You can install Ubuntu 20.04 via the VPS Console using option #9 (install new OS image) and selecting “Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy Jellyfish 64-bit”.

Ubuntu 22.04 is only available to HVM instances.
